Next...

Date: 25th of July 2008
Time: 8.00am to 12.00pm
Numbers of participants: 67 students and 2 lecturers from our department (taking up 2 buses)
Venue: Yakult (M) Sdn Bhd

It's open to all 2nd and 3rd year students from Chemical Engineering, UPM. Yea, this trip is under me... =D

Honestly, the proposal for the approval of this trip has been sent to the Bahagian Hal Ehwal Pelajar (BHEP) since last sem or u can say, last year. N it's only been approved on the 1st week of this sem. The BHEP do take some time to approve something huh?

There were lots to settle after the approval...
The souvenir application, the confirmation with the transport, lecturers, etc...
Anyway, everything is settled by the time v r going for the trip, of course.

The person in charge of the trip from the Yakult is Ms Chew. She is a very friendly and nice lady.
So, I strongly recommend, if any of u is planning any educational trip to anywhere, go for YAKULT!!

Yakult provides a very comfortable visitor spots for everyone since they welcome visitors to their factories.

"As per our teleconversation, Yakult is equiped with a visitor corridor that enable all visitor to view the whole production process through glass window. And this design is taking consideration on the prevention of contamination and safety of all visitors. Therefore, visitors can wear any attire during the factory visit and it shouldn't be any problem for pregnant lady to come by too."

An explaination provided by Ms Chew when I requested to know more bout how the visit is conducted beforehand.

Most of us r impressed by hw well the whole visit is prepared. A big thanks to Ms Chew!
Not to forget the slides n video presentation on Yakult later on in the hall...
All of us got to try a bottle of Yakult for free..n get to buy 1 row of Yakult (5 bottles) at a discounted rate, which is RM 3.70.. (ermm, outside selling at around RM 3.95 i guess)

I bought 3 rows, 2 rows for both the bus drivers n another row for me n my roommates..

It was tiring for me during this trip, compared to all the others of course.
But it was fun and it's worth to go so far for this trip.. =)

Vitagen!

Aloha
Finally, my first ever update after my 3rd sem has started.
I'm starting with the appetizer first, going on the light ones..

Date: 18th July 2008, Friday
Time: 3pm-5pm
Venue: Malaysia Milk (M) Sdn. Bhd (Vitagen)

ermm..this is jus a simple trip that I tagged along with the juniors.
Supposed to help my senior, Jacklyn out for this trip since I'm from pj..
(Note: Vitagen factory is located ere, for those who don't know)

FYI, this trip is organized by Jacklyn, my 3rd year senior, for the 1st years to let them have a fun n educational trip.
A few of the 3rd year seniors came along too..by car. haha
I'm the only 2nd year thr. sad case rit?

The sad part of the trip was not jus this, let's see..

1) The bus driver was not punctual at all!! He only came to us at 2.45pm, schduled to be 2.15 pm at least. So, with the traffic after prayers on fri, I guessed that I don't have to tell u ppl about how bad is it. N we were totally off from our planned schdule.

2)I'm sorry to tell that the person from Vitagen that was in charge of our trip wasn't that friendly as well. I guessed she was really annoyed that we were late. But we told her right we got into the bus!! She should be more considerate. =(

3) The factory visit wasn't interesting, since we can only visit the packaging section. N we realized something. After the Vitagen has been packed into rows, the Vitagens are actually exposed to the 'hot air' (because it is quite warm in the factory) n the person in charge told us that we supposed to keep all the Vitagens under 4 degree celcius? N all the packed Vitagens are left there for quite some time (from what we observed), even though the person in charge told us that they will be transferred into the 'freezer' in a few minutes' time.

The question is, "Will the Vitagens still be fresh?" =D
Get the answer yourself..hehe

Forget about the sad ones, we enjoyed anyway!

The best part of the trip was, all of us managed to get one whole row of Vitagens n a packet of Chocolate milk for free! =D
But those who answered the Q&A section earlier during the presentation, were given two rows per person. *jealousss*

Gona mention ere n give credits to those very sweet juniors who asked me to pass a bottle or two Vitagens to their direct seniors (d girls in my college).
All those juniors that did that were guys k...it's really very sweet of them, but sadly my junior didn't pass me any *sobs*
I still got a bottle from my ex-junior or he is considered my half- junior, Daniel anyway.. =P

As for all the Vitagens I got, I distributed them to the rest of my coursemates in college, besides keeping one for myself, of course...hehe

Sryy. There aren't any photos on this trip due to some reasons. I will try to get from another senior since he took some photos using his camera phone. Will upload it later!
